Welcome to Jamaica! Hilton Rosehall Montego Bay | Motherhood Unplugged

Are you planning to take your first family trip abroad? Read about how we managed ours in Jamaica. We took our first born to Jamaica when he was 9 months old. I booked our stay at the Hilton Rosehall in Montego Bay, you can view the full video of our trip on our Youtube channel. This all inclusive hotel was just what we needed for a family vacation with an infant. Our plane ride was a breeze with Phoenix, he never really put up much of a fuss onboard. I made sure to nurse him during take off and landing + since he was so young he slept a lot anyway. Now about the hotel, the luxurious suites were the perfect home away from home, this was long before the days of Airbnb, although I am excited to plan a trip with booking housing accommodations through them. My husband favors hotels over the latter but I think I'm wearing him down. This resort is set between the Jamaican mountains and the blue Caribbean sea, there is also an 18 hole golf course if you're into that sort of thing on vacay.

I loved our pool + ocean view at the hotel. This is usually something I look for when booking any accommodation because who doesn't want to wake up to the ocean breeze and sea view? We spent a lot of our family time splashing around in that pool during our vacation. As a new mom, I only brought Phoenix a pair of arm floats but a family was kind enough to gift us their baby float for him as they were leaving and this was much better; especially since the resort also has a lazy river!

The food was also delish, I ate ackee + saltfish, roti, and beef patties galore; you name it I had it. I love Jamaican food and this was on point! I really dislike traveling to another country, staying at an all inclusive resort only to be served 'American' food and this place did not disappoint. If you go for no other reason go for the beef patty cart that serves you by the pool. Yum! I was still eating meat at that time and all the dishes were extremely divine. This was also long before I was so dedicated to my fitness and as you can see I was still "snapping back" to my pre-baby weight at this point. Looking back at these pictures makes me have so much appreciation for how far I've come with my self-care mombod maintenance. My physical and mental health is so much stronger and more well balanced. I will be traveling again this September for my first momcation to another tropical destination. I joked with my girlfriend that I will be wearing a thong the entire trip but I ain't ready for all that! Ha! Maybe next summer (wink wink)! #livealittle

I'd definitely recommend this resort for families who love swimming + eating Jamaican food. We didn't really enjoy the beach because 9 month olds still put everything in their mouths, including sand, so we just stuck with the pool and lazy river for the most part. We also took him to their playground, pictured above with his 'Gangnam style' t-shirt. I loved that song! Ha! You can check out the full video of that vacation on our Youtube channel.

Have you been to Jamaica yet, did you love it? This coming year I would love to take my family to places like Thailand, Amsterdam and the Philippines. What's on your bucketlist for 2019?

Happy Travels!
