The Greetings tour is a cross country mural art project creating landmarks through public art. This weekend my family became Tourist at Home and ventured down to the West End of Atlanta. I'm familiar with the West End because I spent 4 years of my life at Clark Atlanta University. After college graduation, I moved further north near Centennial Olympic Park and then even further up into the burbs outside of the Perimeter. I haven't visited the city much since I became a SAHM and was totally taken aback at all the changes due to gentrification in my old stomping grounds. I was aware that gentrification was taking place because it started while I was still attending college but wow it looks so different over there now. I can only imagine Starbucks and Trader Joes moving in to replace the Church's Chicken + Mom/Pop small business convenience stores. We even stopped at the West End Mall to use the bathroom and I almost didn't recognize it with the new Planet Fitness under construction. I totally felt like a tourist in my city after driving through Lee Street.

My family went to check out the Greetings from West End Atlanta in pursuit of doing a photoshoot with the boys for our Travel Gear line available now. I can't wait to unveil what we've been working on but there are several items for purchase on our Shopify site.
