Why every couple needs a babymoon | Motherhood Unplugged

babymoon

Before every couple becomes parents I believe they should take a breather to go on a babymoon. This is a trip that you take to strengthen your relationship, create a stronger bond and can ultimately be used as time discussing your plans to be parents. I will be speaking about questions you can ask on your babymoon to find out more of their parenting hopes + dreams. Parenting can be a scary journey to embark on and discussing the babies arrival in a fun place can certainly take the edge of what to expect when expecting.

My husband and I took our very first babymoon to none other than Cancun, Mexico. If you've been following our journey you know we've been there like a gazillion times. When we were expecting our second, Cairo, we traveled to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. This trip was psuedo relaxing as I still had a rambunctious toddler on board but we were still able to relax, unwind and enjoy our 1st born while he frolicked on the beach.

Below are some questions you can ask each other to become more in sync and find out just what type of parent they plan to be. I've made the list printable in pdf format here, so you can take the list with you to the beach, mountains or wherever you decide to vacation.

1. What are some of your favorite childhood memories?

2. What is a tradition from your childhood that you wish to pass on?

3. What did you dislike about your parents disciplinary style growing up?

4. How do you envision us coping with parenting stress once the baby comes?

5. What are some of the parenting responsibilities that you especially want to take on?

6. How do you feel about immunization?

7. What about the child's exposure to religion?

8. What type of education do you forse the child receiving?

9. What type of activities do you want the child to participate in?

10. What are some ways we can ensure our marriage stays intact once we become parents?
