We live in Georgia and as much as I enjoy the warmer weather I am looking forward to the cooler temperatures. I love the Fall season for many reasons, the cool breeze and rustling leaves, Flannel print shirts, apple picking, ripped jeans and boots, pumpkin patches and lots of festivals. As we transition from summer into fall, I've put together a list of 10 things you can enjoy with your children this season.
The Fall season is great for DIY art projects because there are so many loose parts to find on your nature walks that can be used for many things at home including art.
2. Apple picking field trip
I have taken the kids strawberry picking but we have yet to go for apples and I'm looking forward to doing that this year. I'd love to show them how to make DIY applesauce + warm apple pie. Yum!
I just love this creative take on painting using the rolling method with natural materials.
4. National Grandparents day is Sept 9th
My boys grandparents aren't nearby but this is a good opportunity to make them a Fall craft and send it in the mail.

5. Pick out Halloween costumes or start to make your own
I've been asking my boys what they want to be this year and I get a different answer every time. Last year, I made Phoenix his own mummy costume and would love to do another DIY costume but we just have to narrow down their wish list.
6. Library card sign-up month
We take weekly trips to the library for our book hauls but they don't have their very own card. I think since Phoenix is now in Kindergarten he should have his own to keep track of all the great books he has read.
7. National School Success month
This year is our first in public school and I just joined the PTA! I'm excited to help him be more successful in school by showing up and participating in their efforts. He's been having a few issues adjusting to the new routine so I started going to the school to have lunch with him a few times this week and it has definitely helped.
8. Better Breakfast month
Most mornings seem like a blur, I haven't quite made the routine of prepping breakfast beforehand. I mostly give them an english muffin with milk and fruit for breakfast but I would love to make them quirky character breakfasts everyday with enough time to get dressed and on the school bus in time.
9. Pumpkin patch field trip
Last year, we went to a pumpkin patch with the family. It was so much fun, there was a petting zoo, lama ride, bouncy house, hay ride and so much more. I'm looking forward to doing it again this year.
10. Leaf crafts
We made a few cool leaf crafts last year by picking fallen leaves, using googly eyes and scissors. We made a boy bot, Wall E robot and a centipede. They were all so realistic too! Check out our Instagram feed for more activities!
What fun Fall activities do you have in mind to do this season?
