#LibraryCardSignUp Month | Motherhood Unplugged

September is Sign up for a library card month and The Incredibles are official honorary chairs. This superpower family is tasked with the mission of helping to promote the value of a library card. As honorary chairs, the Incredibles will remind families, students and people of all ages that signing up for a library card is a great step toward a truly super lifestyle: libraries offer fun and informative resources to help you pursue your passions and succeed in school.

Libraries have and do amazing things—they give everyone a chance to explore their passions and become their best selves through media, resources, lifelong learning, and more. In honor of our 2018 Library Card Sign-up Month Honorary Chairs, the Incredibles, we want to know: what makes your library incredible?

Share your answer using text, photos, or a short video on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #MyLibraryIsIncredible. Entries can also be posted directly to the I Love Libraries Facebook page. One randomly selected winner will receive a VISA gift card worth $100.00 USD.

We love our local library here in Acworth. When we first moved to our new community the library was our social haven. We would take weekly trips there to do a book haul, participate in the little ones social activities and even the special events held in the summer months. I was so impressed with the superhero themed activities that summer and they haven't disappointed us since. This summer we went to see + touch reptiles. We also attended the sushi candy event where the boys were able to make sushi rolls out of candy. That was such a cute idea that I might do it again for a Playdate activity + Halloween treat! Recently, one of the male librarians told me that I check out the most interesting books for toddlers and I just laughed. Now that I think about it I probably do! I usually get a few chapter books for bed time and the rest of the haul includes books on all kinds of topics ranging from insects to sea creatures to mythology. I couldn't homeschool my children the way that I choose to without the help of our library and I'm so grateful they are just a few short minutes away.

If you don't have a library card I'd encourage you to get one for yourself or your children this month.
