Happy Halloween from my goons to yours. This year the boys wanted to be super scary. Phoenix chose to be a zombie and Cairo wanted to be a ghost skeleton Ha! Cairo is only 4 but he is OBSESSED with all things Halloween. We literally celebrate it all month long, watching Youtube videos, doing coloring pages and shopping at our local Dollar Tree for spooky decorations. I decided to give them DIY costumes again this year and kept Halloween budget friendly, shoot that candy costs a lot for all $ for all of those kiddos trick or treating in my neighborhood.
We went to our Goodwill for costumes and I luckily scored this cute 4T suit for Cairo. Since P wanted to be a zombie I didn't want to spend more than $5 on shredding old clothes. Both outfits in total only cost me $10! That was steal especially since come costumes can run you $30 for just one. I used some old paint to splatter their clothes and paint the bones on the suit. I picked up a face painting kit at the Dollar Tree for a buck and it covered both of their faces on two different occasions. Overall I think the costumes came out great and they loved going trick or treating last night. I was SO tired this morning after staying up late with all the excitement and kids running by the house.
I am so ready for November and all things Fall again. I even took down our Halloween décor and put back up my pumpkins and owls on the front door. Did you get a chance to see all of the fun costumes on Instagram? Beyoncé and Jay Z shut it down with their homage to Flo-Jo and Tommie Smith.
How was your Halloween?
