Taking care of my toddlers teeth is a feat in itself so I've been trying to make it more fun for them + effective for me. Going to the dentist usually gives me anxiety as I'm always nervous as to what the hygienist may uncover. Growing up I recall my scary visits to the dentist and having to sit for tooth fillings as well. I'm determined to keep their smiles cavity free! Although, I have to admit I'm not always a stickler when it comes to flossing the boys teeth every evening I want to set them up for success now with good dental habits.

Luckily our recent visit to the dentist was cavity free and I plan to stay on the clean streak with the help of our local CVS. As usual, the boys were given a goodie bag full of helpful tools to keep their dental record spotless. We shopped at CVS to top up on more floss and mouthwash to aide in our battle against cavities and germs. Letting them shop for their own products and involving them in the process helps give them a sense of responsibility. I believe allowing them to 'do it themselves' when it comes to brushing with a follow up from mom or dad will help them feel more responsible for their pearly whites. They are at the age now where they want to be more independent. I explained to them the importance of rinsing away the 'sugar bugs' at night so they don't make holes in their teeth while they are sleeping. Their hygienist also explained that children's teeth are tight and need extra care when it comes to removing plaque from in between those tiny spaces. The easy to use CVS floss plus fun smart rinse Listerine mouthwash we picked up will definitely help them maintain a great smile.
