Benefits of Rosehip Seed Oil for Skincare + #60secrule | Motherhood Unplugged

rosehip seed oil

So as you may have read in previous post, I've been on a quest for clearer skin. I did an overhaul of my skincare products and got rid of the ones I did not think worked no matter how much I paid for them or how much was left in the container. I have been doing some at home chemical peels, which have helped to sloth off dead cells but has also left me needing much more hydration than before. I returned to using a natural ingredient known as Rosehip Seed Oil which is available on Amazon for less than $20.

Rosehip Seed oil has been raved about by celebs like Miranda Kerr and even Instafamous personal trainers like MissTisch from TischTosh Training. Now I'm not one to tell you to use something just because a famous person does, this product actually works. I've purchased and repurchased Rosehip Seed oil with my own money and my skin loves it especially in the winter months.

Rosehip Seed oil is a great moisturizer packed with fatty acids like Vitamins A and C, which can help to combat against unsightly wrinkles. These ingredients help to combat signs of aging like hyperpigmentation while giving your skin a natural and healthy glow + boost of antioxidants. The astringent properties help to brighten your skin and is gentle enough to use everyday. If you have sensitive skin like me this oil is much easier on your face plus effective at brightening than other more harsh ingredients like citric acids.

As a woman approaching 40 in a few years I'm all about anti-aging these days and rosehip oil has definitely helped me turn back the clock a few especially around my eyes. Overall, I'm loving this oil as a holy grail product but there is one more step in my skincare process that has helped just as much. It is called the #60secrule. The 60 sec rule applies to washing your face. I used to break out constantly no matter what cleanser I used and had a hard time figuring out what I was doing wrong. I began oil cleansing and still had a few breakouts although they lessened quite a bit. Now I'm noticing a complete change in my skin and it's all because of the 60 sec rule. I started counting for 60 seconds during my oil cleansing and then another full 60 secs during my foam cleanser. After the first time I realized that I was surely not washing my face long enough. I probably was washing my face for about 20-30 secs and missing some spots. When washing your face with just your fingers sans sponges, brushes or tools you will find that you get a much more thorough cleaning especially when you double cleanse. Now it may seem like you don't have time to do this everyday but trust me spending those 2 minutes doing a proper double cleanse will make a world of a difference.

Do you use Rosehip Seed oil too?
