Have you heard about the Kids Heart Challenge? When I learned about my son's school challenge to raise funds for kids in need of healthy hearts I was excited to participate. This came at the right time with us trying to be more physically active and eat healthier meals. This is a fun challenge where your kids can learn about their heart, engage in more physical activity to strengthen their hearts + raise money for other kids in need. I am challenging myself and the kids to get in 60 minutes of physical activity everyday, rain or shine. Join us in the fun this month when you register your kids for the Heart Challenge! Check out the website to learn about heart health and lots of tips on how to take better care of your heart.
Take the Heart Hero pledge with me to be physically active everyday for 60 minutes to help save lives.

Here are some tips on how to add up those minutes for your full 60 every single day:
!. Take the stairs instead of the elevator
2. Park further and walk
3. Wake up 10 mins earlier and do morning yoga stretches
4. Do air squats or calf raises while you brush your teeth
5. Take an active lunch break and eat at your desk afterwards
6. Pack your gym bag and leave it in the car so you have 0 excuses to hit the gym later
7. Nix your smoke or coffee break and trade it for a brisk walk break
8. Grab a jump rope and skip towards a healthier heart
9. Do 10 mins of abs before bed
10. Take a hike on the weekend
11. Subscribe to fitness YouTube accounts and workout at home (Fitness Blender, BodyRock TV)
12. Use your office's gym when you get your 15 min break
Thanks so much in advance to all who participate. Let's get moving!
