VIPKID How to Pass the Mock Class Letter X

Congrats! You've passed your demo class (virtual fist bump) Now it's time to proceed with your Mock Class but don't fret I'm here to guide you through it. With these tips and tricks you are sure to pass with flying colors!

If you don't have a referring teacher as your coach, I'd love to be your go to gal! Use my referral link then email me when you've sent it through.

REFERRAL CODE: DOMIN0051

After you've passed your demo interview you will enter the certification center to prepare for your mock class. You can take the mock as many times as necessary. It is more like training than a formal interview but with proper preparation you will be sure to pass the first time.

Similar to your demo class you will teach a 10 minute demo session. You will have a casual introduction to your MCM (Mock Class Mentor) and then your class will begin. Afterwards you will chat about how you think you did. The MCM will tell you your strengths and what you can improve on. They will advise you that the management team will review and contact you with the next steps. You will either receive an email stating that you passed or that you did great and need to move on to retry the mock class again. If this happens don't fret, you will be guided through additional training, possibly required to take a multiple choice test and then record another demo.

For Level 2 Interactive you need to prepare lessons for both Letter X and P. All of the curriculum is already prepared for you, you simply have to do a trial run, make notes and perfect your craft before entering into the 'real classroom.'

How to prepare for your Mock Class Level 2 Interactive Letter X

1. Print out the Lesson materials

2. Take note of Target sentences and words

3. Watch my Youtube video on how to teach this Mock Class

4. Write down what you want to say and do with each slide

5. Practice with a family member or record yourself and critique

6. Be sure your practice student makes mistakes so you can show correction

7. Ask your referral teacher for additional feedback. I'm here to help just send me a note to hello@motherhoodunplg.com

Intro Slide: Say Hello, introduce yourself with a big smile. Ask how the student is doing? or How old are they?

Reward Slide: You don't have to use the helicopter slide but you do need to have your own as a replacement.

Warm - Up Slide: The student has already been introduced to these words. Circle a picture and ask what they are. Use lots of TPR on this slide.

Let's Begin: Xx Teacher teaches the letter name, size and sound.

What do you see? I see an X! Say Big X and Small x with lots of TPR.

Use the proper synthetic phonic when saying X makes the '  ' sound.

Fox: teach the new vocabulary word fox and repeat at least 2 times

Ox: teach the vocabulary word ox and repeat at least 2 times, return to first new vocab word and review again

Activity time! Be enthusiastic! yay activity time! circle something on the slide and extend with 'What do you see?

Point & Read: Student should read each letter to blend the words, use flash cards or TPR to help student blend

Memory Game: What do you see? I see an X, circle X. Move on through each (fox) (ox). Make it into a song X, Fox, Ox. Then flip to the next slide and ask Where is the X? See if the student can tell you.

Tip: Print out this slide and use sticky notes to mirror the blank slide, if student gets stuck flip up the card and give them a peak. Do not spend tons of time on this find a way to get the student to respond correctly even if you move back n forth for each picture.

Watch & Say: 'ix' Make flash cards or use your hands with post it notes to blend each word. This makes it more fun than just parroting.

Goodbye: Be sure to be happy and enthusiastic, wave goodbye. Tell the student what they did great and what they should practice at home. Thank them and encourage them to see you soon in the next class.

Next Steps:

Once you pass the mock you can proceed to signing your contract, filling out the bio and uploading the necessary documents needed for payroll.

If your MCM feels that you need more practice you will ask to re-do the Mock Class.

As always thanks for reading and don't forget to check out my Youtube videos for more prep information.
