Remote Teacher with VIPKID 🍎✈ | Motherhood Unplugged

If you follow me on Instagram you would know that I taught abroad in Mexico for the first time since joining VIPKID. When we booked our trip I did not have this position but after successfully managing the workload at home I figured that I could do it on the road too! Our hotel room doesn't come with an additional separate living space that has a door so I had to get creative when deciding where to set up my classroom. I only had two choices where I could have a private setting and not disturb my family's sleep too much in the early morning hours. My options were the water closet lol or the shower room. I chose the shower room since it is actually quite large and provided enough space for comfortable seating, a desk like area and a shelf space for easy access to props. Teaching in the shower was quite funny to me but it worked out perfectly fine. I have already taught 8 classes in this little makeshift classroom and the parents are none the wiser. If you are a family traveler and were hesitant about remote teaching let me assure you that it is very possible. I purchased my traveling map background from the Dollar Tree and have nothing but flashcard and stars for my reward system. I have small felt animals that I use for rewards as well as superheros on my phone for the older boys or girls. If you are a traveling ESL teacher, what is the weirdest place you've ever set up you classroom? I'd love to hear your stories.

Happy Teaching!
